International Brotherhood Teamsters – Local 572
The Teamsters Union is America’s most diverse, and largest Organized Labor Union nationwide. How is this possible and what does it mean? It is possible because since 1903, the Teamsters Labor Union Organization has not deviated from its’ main purpose. Most notably in the workplace. Teamsters supports its’ members in the workplace from the struggles of justice. Greedy employers or companies may focus on managements’ best interest, however the Teamsters has understood from their beginning a simple truth. The labor workforce is the Nation’s backbone when it comes to economic growth. Labor workers vastly outnumber the number of companies. Understanding this, is understanding that power comes in numbers. Unity. Solidarity. Service. These are the fundamental principles the International Brotherhood of Teamsters has stood by and protected, continues protecting, its members from injustice in the workplace. Local 572 represents multiple industries. For this article’s purpose, most notably the Industries that Local 572 represent are: the Public Sector and the School Bus Industries.
